Bob Beane has a Bachelors Degree in Business Economics from the College of Wooster and a MBA in Accounting from Miami University (Oxford, OH). He began his career as a CPA for Price Waterhouse, and then moved on to Cintas Corporation where he was part of an acquisition team and the Cintas IPO. Bob has worked as a Controller in manufacturing, engineering services and medical service companies ranging in size from start-up (Venture capital-backed for three rounds of financing) to a $600 million division of an International public company. Bob is one of 215 Partners of B2B CFO®   a national firm that provides affordable, part-time, as needed Chief Financial Officer resources to emerging and mid-sized businesses.

Speaker Series Topic: Protecting Your Intellectual Property

When and if to file a patent application and how the new patent laws change that analysis. This talk will give one patent attorney’s opinion of when to file a patent application. And will also cover the new patent laws and compare them to the old way and discuss the practical changes that may be driven by them. Plus, as much time for questions and answers as you want.

About our speaker:

Dr. Runyan is an intellectual property lawyer located in Phoenix, AZ, he received a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Texas A&M University, attended law school at the James E. Rogers College of Law at the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ.

He has held law firm and in-house positions in Phoenix, Houston, San Francisco, and Santa Clara.  Admitted in Arizona, California, Texas, and at the USPTO.

Dr. Runyan’s expertise covers all facets of intellectual property law including patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret litigation, licensing, and internet and domain name law.  He has prosecuted and drafted patent applications and managed the prosecution and drafting of hundreds of cases in diverse areas such as natural product pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals, purified microbes, drugs, medical devices, robotic automation for constructing intravascular stents, intraocular lens materials, semiconductor processing methods and equipment, medical/surgical equipment, software, and industrial scale polyolefin polymerization and polymerization catalysts.

He has a diverse set of clients ranging from individual inventors to start-up companies to multinational oil and chemical companies and multinational pharmaceutical and medical device companies.
